Anyone who is even remotely interested in Photography has surely heard the phrase: "No equipment will make you a better photographer". And it's true! There is indeed no way to replace the patient and methodical approach to this form of art with any amount of gear.
So, is photography equipment useless, then? No, not at all, as long as you are not asking it to fulfil a role it wasn't made for.
Photographic gear plays a dual role. It exists to assist photographers technically and it also functions as a tool to help artists express their vision and creativity. Ask of it to balance the light and it will. Instruct it to change the mood of a scene and it will happily oblige. It can even slow down time if required. But, it won't make anyone a better photographer.
Therefore, please don't see this following list of equipment as a means to improve your photography skills (instead, browse the Tips & Techniques section), but merely for what it is: A collection of tools that allow me to express my creativity and may also do the same for you.
